Exploring the Sense of Touch

Post by MaryAnn Earp, Business Operations Director at Kidspace Children's Museum

Veer off the beaten path and let your sense of touch run wild as you explore the Bumpy Fuzzy Garden. Explore different textures as you wind through the dirt path. Feel the cuddly softness of Lamb’s Ears, plastic texture of Pork and Beans, and prickly feel of Coast Live Oak. I wonder what the felt plant feels like….. Hop on over to the Kangaroo Paws, you might spot a bird, or even a hummingbird that commonly pollinate its paws. Head over to the Lion’s Tail for a roaring good time. Did you know that Lion’s Tail was used by the Tongva Indians to cure bronchitis and other respiratory illnesses?

Say hi, hello, or howdy to the many Kidspace critters that habitat the Bumpy Fuzzy Garden, from butterflies, and bees, and lizards, oh my! Coming soon Kidspace will be introducing an interactive garden guide for exploring the Bumpy Fuzzy Garden and beyond. Garden guides will be available for check-out in the Nature Exchange.
