Bubbles, Bubbles, and more Bubbles!

The theme for the month of August is BUBBLES!
Everyday in August, kids and families can explore Bubble Science at Kidspace. Guests create colorful bubbles, make edible bubbles, learn why bubbles are round, and more each day at the Open Art Bubble Science Station.

On Saturday, August 1st and 29th, and expert bubblist is coming to the Museum! Kids and parents will be fascinated with the bubble creations of an expert bubblist. Guests witness huge bubbles in the making and try creating bubbles using various tools. Learn the science of bubbles and try your hand at creating bubbles of various kinds and sizes.

According to babyparenting.com, here's how to make homemade bubbles:

Best Bubble Solution:
1 cup water
2 tablespoons glycerin
4 tablespoons dishwashing liquid

Mix together and use with bubble wands. Have fun!

Colored Bubbles:
1 cup granulated soap or soap powder
1 quart warm water
Liquid food coloring
Plastic straws
Small juice cans

Dissolve soap in warm water. Stir in food coloring until desired color is attained. Give each child a can about 1/3 full of mix and a plastic straw to blow bubbles in the can. Do not drink!
